ISCIT 2017 Workshops

Papers submitted to Workshops will undergo the same peer-review process as other papers submitted to the conference, and if accepted and presented at the conference, will be published in IEEE Xplore and indexed in the Elsevier Ei Compendex. Today's mobile network architectures and air interface technologies do not provide sufficient flexibility to cope with the requirements of new 5G applications, such as low latency, high reliability, and high energy efficiency. To satisfy the above requirements, there will be a need for the development of advanced air interface technologies, signal processing technologies, and flexible network architectures to support the evolution. Besides the technical insights, the workshop will also serve as an active discussing and networking forum for participants.

The Workshop on 5G & Beyond - Enabling Technologies and Applications will be held in conjunction with ISCIT2017, Cairns (Great Barrier Reef), Australia.
The 5G-ETA workshop aims to stimulate innovative contributions to the topics, with emphasis on the fundamental limits, on the cross-layer interaction between the MAC and PHY layers, and on connection to future mobile network architectures.
The technical topics of interest include, but are not limited to the followings:

              - Cognitive radio
              - Millimeter communication
              - SDN/NFV for wireless network
              - Flexible mobile network architecture
              - Advanced signal processing technology

                      ISCIT 2017 Workshop on Innovative communication solutions for Industrial IoT          

With numerous success stories, Internet of Things has redefined the consumer facing industries such as financial, retail, media etc. Traditional and slow changing industrial domain is late to attend the internet revolution. The IoT adoption in manufacturing, energy, water, transportation, oil-gas, and chemical etc. industries has proven to be beneficial in providing business value by transforming the way data is utilized in decision making and visualization. IoT in industrial domain has enabled faster time to market, improved productivity, business innovation and operational excellence.

However industrial IoT (IIoT) is currently in its early stages. Many important questions such as impact of IIoT on existing industries, business model, workforce and value chain; technical barriers in implementation, role of policy makers, are yet to fully resolved. Reliable and secured communication is one of the biggest challenges surrounding the implementation of IIoT. There is a need to get all stakeholders from industry, academia and standardization bodies together to discuss the challenges of communication solutions for IoT; share experience, ideas with wider audience to ensure long term success of IIoT. The workshop is a step towards this bigger goal.
